The material addresses minor surface defects like paper fuzz, scuffs, and fills the pores and equalizes the absorption difference between gypsum board surface paper and the compounds used to finish joints, angles, fastener heads, and accessories as well as over skim coats.
Q. What is the method for inspecting interior joint treated gypsum panel surfaces?
A. Per industry standards DWFC The normal viewing position shall be at any angle provided it is established at a minimum distance of five feet perpendicular from the surface to be viewed under finish lighting conditions
Q. What is the temperature standard for job site conditions when finishing gypsum board?
A. Per ASTM C840 & GA-216 Where materials are being mixed or used for joint treatment or for laminating gypsum panel products the room temperature shall be maintained at not less than 50°F (10°C) for a period beginning not less than 48 hours before mixing or application and continuing until applied materials are thoroughly dry.
Q. What are the industry standards for levels of gypsum board finish that are frequently specified?
